"We Are the World" is a music video originally recorded in 1985 by a group of artists to raise funds for Africa. It was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Ritchie. With sales in excess of 20 million copies, long with promotion and merchandise, "We Are the World" raised over $63 million (equivalent to $144 million today) for humanitarian aid in Africa and the US.
